Hello World! Hope you’ve all been keeping your little minds and bodies busy!
Let’s talk about planning for a moment, it’s such a nightmare isn’t it. You can spend months and months organizing, preparing, and getting everything in a neat fine line, and then boom! Something so tiny can just throw everything out of place. Or maybe it’s not so small, and you’re in a position where your earth has started to crash down around you, your sat there dealing with other, more important things on your plate.
Either way, your plans are now fucked!
I think this year as affected everyone in some way or another.
Bloody COVID! How dare it cause inconvenience, not allowing me to go on holiday, get my hair and nails done, or go out drinking at the pub with my friends, how rude of you! (In case that wasn’t clear, that was my sarcastic voice).
Though, I will admit, it has been upsetting that I have not been able to see my family since Christmas; phew, thank god for facetime!
Okay, so back to the point; planning, yeah sometimes it could go wrong, you could do everything so perfectly, and still, it doesn’t go to plan. You don’t reach your goal, deadlines are missed, things just don’t get done when they are supposed to, or how they are supposed to.
However, here’s what you need to remember; sometimes you can’t control everything around you, no matter how much you try.
Stressing and worrying about this is just a waste of your time, effort, and energy.
Why limit all of this to crying and screaming about it; what is that really going to achieve. Apart from more frustration and more problems.
So, what if things are not as perfect as before, you only really have these options:
- Deal with the hand that you have been dealt.
- Push back your deadline if you can of course.
- Or just give up.
If you automatically choose option 3, I am sorry to say; you’ve come to the wrong place.
I can’t give you a quick fix to resolve anything, or find you a miracle cure all. All I can do is advise you to push, push, and push yourself to keep going.
For me, I have experienced some major technical difficulties with my new website, which of course sucks, because it was meant to go live today. Still, it’s fine. I’ve still got my platform; I’ve still got a place to reach and speak my voice. All my hard work, late nights and contents might seem wasted, but really, it’s not! That would just be me, being dramatic for the sake of it.
I have one final, small, tiny thing to deal with, and I’ll be set to go. If anything, the extra time has allowed me to improve on things I thought I was happy with. I’ve been able to add more detail, I didn’t think about before. Getting rid of that deadline has been a blessing and an overall freeing feeling.
While I live by deadlines, to-do lists, habits, and an all-around routine-based lifestyle. Sometimes it’s okay to let things go a little wonky every now and then; it gives you room to expand your mind and grow. It strengthens you, builds you. It gives you experience and skills you never thought you would need to learn. Look at these difficulties in an optimistic light; because you do this, you’ll find it will change your whole attitude to a situation in the future.
It’s all about changing your mindset again, about finding the positivity in a negative situation. It’s about not wasting creative time dwelling on the past. Even if that past was only five minutes ago. That five minutes of time you could use achieving something great.
Stop moaning, and start doing! Laugh in the face of chaos and remember the little things that make you happy. If you have to; grab a cup of tea, eat a chocolate biscuit, watch your favourite film if it calms you. Whatever happens just get your shit done before it’s too late!
Don’t stop planning, and never give up. You’ve got this!
